Overview

Weaving, knitting, dyeing, embroidery, processing and sewing are all available in Kiryu. The Kiryu Textile Cooperative Society is organized by Kiryu’s textile makers who produce clothing material in Kiryu.

Together with the textile cooperative, we have been working on the development of overseas markets from design to execution.

Background

A textile co-operative organized by a Kiryu-based manufacturer of clothing cloth mainly for the domestic fashion industry, a market that is shrinking in size every year, needed professional advice on how to design a strategy for developing an overseas market.

Support contents

We follow up on everything from the identification of current issues, to the design of a hypothesis to overcome structural issues, to the research to check the hypothesis, and to the strategy design based on the research results. During the execution phase of the strategy, we work together with the client to resolve the issues that arise.

Synergy born from overcoming stereotypes

Kiryu is a place with great potential and self-reliance, but it was stereotyped due to the structural difficulties of the fashion industry. By tackling this issue, they were able to find the best partner for their project, a fashion designer, and they have become good friends to work with.

One of the team’s designers said in a media interview, “Fashion designers should come to Kiryu to learn more about fabrics.” The team’s original goal has been realized, and the relationship between the team members has become closer as they continue to work on the project, and the team’s strength has improved.
